Version 2026-10-06.1 · effective 2026-10-06
These Terms govern your use of Korva Academy ("Korva"). By creating an account, or by ticking the acceptance box at checkout, you agree to them.
1. Who operates Korva
Korva Academy is operated by Korva Academy, 14554829654, of Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Contact: admin@korvaacademy.com.au.
2. What Korva is — and what it is not
Korva is a subscription web service that gives Year 6 students practice for selective entry testing.
Korva Academy is an independent educational service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by any test authority, government body, school, or education organisation. We have no connection to the bodies that write, administer or mark any real test. References to selective entry preparation describe our own independently developed educational content, and any trade marks belonging to other organisations remain their own.
Korva does not guarantee entry to any selective school, any place, any score, or any result. Selection is decided entirely by the bodies responsible for it, on criteria we neither control nor see. Nobody may represent otherwise on our behalf. Korva is practice material; it is not tuition, not assessment, and not a substitute for a qualified teacher or tutor.
3. The account holder is the parent, not the child
You must be 18 or older and be the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. Only an adult may open an account, accept these Terms, hold the subscription, and add or remove child profiles.
Children do not have accounts. A child profile is created by you, sits inside your account, has no email address and no independent login, and is reached by picking it from your account (optionally behind a 4-digit PIN you set). You are responsible for what happens under your account, including your children's use of it.
4. Price, billing and auto-renewal
- Korva offers a 1 week free trial from registration. No card details are required to start it.
- After the trial the subscription is AUD $7 per week, GST inclusive, charged through Stripe.
- The subscription renews automatically every week at AUD $7 until you cancel. We do not ask you again before each renewal, and we do not send a reminder before a charge. Stripe sends the payment receipt for every charge.
- The renewal date is the same weekday each week, counted from the date you first subscribed.
- If a renewal payment fails you keep access for a 7-day grace period. If the card is not updated in that time, access stops.
- Price changes will be shown to you in the app and require you to accept the updated Terms before the new price applies to you (see clause 10).
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal, linked from your dashboard. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the week you have already paid for; the subscription then lapses.
You can also delete your account outright from your dashboard. That is permanent and erases your children's practice history — see clause 8.
6. Refunds
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not excluded, restricted or modified by these Terms, and nothing here limits a consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be limited.
Beyond those rights, Korva's discretionary refund window is 14 days. Refunds are processed manually through Stripe; there is no automatic or self-service refund in the app. To request one, email admin@korvaacademy.com.au from your account address.
7. What you may and may not do with the content
The Korva software, design, question templates, prompts and generated content are owned by Korva Academy or its licensors. While your subscription is active you have a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own children's study.
You may print or save questions for your own child's revision. You may not:
- Copy, republish, sell, resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute any Korva content, in any medium, for any purpose.
- Use Korva content as material for a tutoring business, a course, a study group outside your household, or any other commercial offering.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract questions, explanations or answers.
- Use Korva content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or build any machine learning model or competing service.
- Share your account outside your household, or work around the separation between the parent account and the child profiles.
- Use Korva to harass anyone, to produce material unsuitable for children, or to interfere with the service.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches this clause.
8. Deleting your account
"Delete my account and all data" on your dashboard is a permanent erasure, not a deactivation. It removes your parent account, every child profile under it, and every practice session, answer, writing response, mistake record, tutor conversation, mock and challenge attempt belonging to those children. It cannot be undone and the data cannot be recovered afterwards. Any active Stripe subscription is cancelled at the same time.
We send a confirmation to your email address once the deletion is done, but we do not promise it arrives — a mail outage or a provider restriction can lose it, and the deletion has already happened either way. The page you land on immediately afterwards lists exactly what was removed, and the deletion is recorded in our internal audit log at the moment it happens.
9. AI-generated content and AI marking
Korva's practice questions are generated by an AI system (Anthropic's Claude), and your child's work is marked by that same AI system. AI can be wrong.
- A question can be ambiguous, can have an error, or can be marked against an answer key that is itself mistaken.
- Written work is scored by AI against a rubric. That score is an estimate, not a mark. It is not moderated by a teacher, it is not standardised against any cohort, and it carries no weight with any test authority, government body, or school.
- Hints and explanations are AI-generated and can be incorrect or misleading.
- Korva runs automated checks on generated content, and abstract-reasoning questions are additionally re-solved by a second AI before being served. These checks reduce errors; they do not eliminate them.
Please treat every score and explanation as practice feedback to discuss, not as a verdict on your child. The in-app flag button reports a bad question to us.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Each version carries a version number and an effective date, shown at the top of this page, and we record which version you accepted and when.
When a new version takes effect you will be shown it in the app and asked to accept it. You have 14 days from the effective date to do so; after that you will be asked to accept before you can continue using Korva. If you do not want to accept, you can cancel or delete your account instead. We do not notify you of changes by email — Korva sends only a password-reset link and an account-deletion confirmation, and nothing else — so the notice is given in the app.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Korva is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that practice content will be accurate, complete, or resemble any real exam.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of your use of Korva is limited to the fees you paid Korva in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and specifically not for any selection, ranking or admission outcome.
Nothing in this clause excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. The enforceability and drafting of this clause is one of the items for legal review.
12. Privacy
How we handle personal information — including your children's — is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Additional child-specific protections are described on our Child Safety page.
13. Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, email admin@korvaacademy.com.au. We will acknowledge and aim to resolve complaints within 30 days from the issue being raised.
