Terms of Service

Welcome to Korva Academy. These Terms govern your use of korvaacademy.com.au and any related apps (together, "Korva"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who runs Korva

Korva Academy is operated by a sole trader registered in Western Australia (ABN 14554829654). Contact: hello@korvaacademy.com.au.

2. What Korva is

Korva is a subscription web service that helps Year 5 and Year 6 students in Western Australia prepare for selective-school entrance tests, including the ACER ASET. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with ACER, the WA Department of Education, or any specific school.

3. Who the account holder is

The account holder is always the parent or legal guardian, not the child. You must be 18 years old or older to create a Korva account. Only an adult may accept these Terms, manage subscription and payment, and add or remove player profiles.

Children practice on Korva under player profiles owned by the parent account. Player profiles use a nickname or label only — they do not have email addresses or independent login credentials, and they sit under the parent account.

4. Subscription, billing, cancellation

• Korva offers a 7-day free trial at registration. After the trial you must subscribe to continue practicing.
• The subscription price is AUD $29 per month, GST inclusive, charged automatically each month through Stripe.
• The subscription auto-renews until you cancel. We do not contact you for permission before each renewal.
• You may cancel any time from the Customer Portal accessible from your dashboard. After cancellation, you keep access until the end of the paid month.
• Failed renewals trigger a 7-day grace period during which your child can still practise; if the card is not updated in that period, the subscription cancels automatically.
• Refunds: see our Refund Policy. The Australian Consumer Law guarantees are not affected by these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Share your account outside your household.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute Korva's generated content for commercial use.
• Attempt to circumvent the parent/player separation.
• Use Korva to harass others, generate content inappropriate for children, or interfere with the service.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates this section. We will refund any unused paid time on a suspended account unless the suspension is due to fraud or attempted abuse.

6. Intellectual property

The Korva software, design, prompts, and curated question structures are owned by Korva Academy. The questions Korva generates for your child to practise are licensed to you for personal study only. You may print, save, or screenshot questions for your child's review; you may not republish them or use them to train competing services.

Trademarks of third parties (ACER, Perth Modern School, and others) referenced in our materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used descriptively only.

7. AI-generated content

Practice questions are generated by an AI system (Anthropic Claude) with multiple quality checks. Despite those checks, generated content can occasionally contain errors or ambiguity. If your child encounters a broken question, the in-app "flag" button helps us improve. Korva does not guarantee that practice questions exactly match any specific real exam, and is not a substitute for school-based preparation or professional tutoring.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Australian law, Korva is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of Korva is limited to the fees you have paid Korva in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. We protect children's data per the Australian Privacy Act 1988; see Child Safety for child-specific protections.

10. Disputes

If you have a complaint, contact us at hello@korvaacademy.com.au. We will try to resolve it within 14 days. Disputes are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you and Korva submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia. You may also use a relevant alternative-dispute-resolution scheme (for example, the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety in WA, or a state consumer-affairs body).

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified to your account email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Korva after that date is acceptance of the new Terms; if you do not accept, you can cancel for a full pro-rata refund of the current month.
